Description:
A strong system moving from the Gulf of Alaska into Southwest
Alaska will bring a period of strong southeast winds to the Kenai
Peninsula on Sunday. The strongest winds are expected from early
Sunday morning through Sunday afternoon.
Sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts as high as 50 mph are
possible across interior Kenai Peninsula, including along the
Seward Highway and Sterling Highway east of Sterling.
For Seward and Whittier, a brief period of wind gusts up to 55
mph is possible between 7AM and 11AM this morning before slowly
diminishing through this afternoon.
Please use caution if driving or towing a high profile vehicle,
or if planning any outdoor activities with easily lofted objects.
