The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red
Flag Warning below 8000 feet for gusty winds, low relative
humidity and dry fuels, which is in effect from 1 PM to 9 PM MDT
Tuesday. A Fire Weather Watch has also been issued. This Fire
Weather Watch for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry
fuels is in effect from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday
evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
* AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 205 Colorado
River Headwaters below 8000 feet.
* TIMING...For the first Red Flag Warning, until 8 PM MDT this
evening. For the second Red Flag Warning, from 1 PM to 9 PM
MDT Tuesday. For the Fire Weather Watch, from Wednesday
afternoon through Wednesday evening.
* WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...10 to 15 percent.
* IMPACTS...Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise
extreme caution with any outdoor burning.

are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
