Description:
At 439 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Evergreen, or near Bunkie, moving east at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Opelousas, Eunice, Oakdale, Ville Platte, Marksville, Church Point,
Bunkie, Mamou, Simmesport, Basile, Krotz Springs, Elton, Leonville,
Melville, Moreauville, Cheneyville, Turkey Creek, Palmetto,
Bordelonville, and Bayou Current.
This includes Interstate 49 between mile markers 9 and 67.
Instruction:
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
