Description:
At 507 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm
capable of producing funnel clouds near Independence, or 8 miles
northwest of Hammond, moving northeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Funnel clouds and winds in excess of 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...If a funnel cloud briefly touches down, minor damage to
outdoor objects is possible. Gusty winds could knock down
tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Independence and Tickfaw.
This includes Interstate 55 in Louisiana between mile markers 36 and
43.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
