...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING FOR LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND GUSTY WINDS FOR THE EASTERN NEBRASKA PANHANDLE AND WESTERN SANDHILLS... The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued a Fire Weather Watch for low relative humidity and gusty winds, which is in effect from Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday evening. A red flag warning remains in effect from noon through 9 PM MDT today for forecast zone 204. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 204 Eastern Panhandle/Crescent Lake NWR. * TIMING...For the warning-Monday, Noon through 9 PM MDT. For the watch-Tuesday, Noon through 9 PM MDT. * WINDS...Monday-west 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Tuesday-west 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 14 percent Monday and as low as 13 percent Tuesday. * TEMPERATURES...Up to 82 Monday. Up to 88 Tuesday. * LIGHTNING...none expected. * IMPACTS...Any fire starts could spread rapidly and be difficult to control.
