Description:
At 1117 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches
of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in
1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are possible in
the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses.
Some locations that may experience flash flooding include...
Wilmington, Deptford, West Deptford, Pennsville, Bellmawr,
Woodbury, Carneys Point, Paulsboro, Penns Grove, Salem, Magnolia
and Westville.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 295 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 26...and
between mile markers 31 and 32.
New Jersey Turnpike between exits 1 and 3.
Instruction:
Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most
flood deaths occur in vehicles.
