Description:
Heavy rainfall will move into the area over the next one to two
hours producing dangerous driving conditions throughout the advisory
area which includes much of St Clair, eastern Blount and western
Etowah counties.
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of central Alabama, including the following
counties, Blount, Etowah and St. Clair.
* WHEN...Until 230 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of
water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1131 AM CDT, Doppler radar is showing heavy rain moving
into the advisory area. This will cause urban and small
stream flooding.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
