* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt is expected. * WHERE...Koyukuk River and Slate Creek. * WHEN...Until 1000 PM AKDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1000 PM AKDT, river gauge reports indicate steep rises in water levels from rain and snowmelt that is beginning to cause flooding. Rapid river rises have already caused flooding of the Middle Fork of the Koyukuk River and it's tributaries including Slate Creek. Rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.25 inches of rain have already fallen and up to another 0.5 inches of additional rain is expected to fall through midday Tuesday. - For Slate Creek at Coldfoot: At 9:15pm the stage was 18.5 feet. Flood Stage is 18.7 feet. Forecast: A crest around 18.7 feet is expected around 4:00am Tuesday. - http://www.weather.gov/aprfc
