The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a Red Flag Warning for lightning, which is in effect from 10 AM Saturday to 10 PM AKDT Sunday. * AFFECTED AREA...Central and Eastern Interior. * TIMING...From 10 AM Saturday to 10 PM AKDT Sunday. * THUNDERSTORM COVERAGE INDEX...Scattered. * WINDS...Near thunderstorms, gusts could reach as high as 40 mph. * HUMIDITY...As low as 30 percent. * TEMPERATURES...Highs in the upper 80s. Lows in the mid 40s. * IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions are expected this weekend due to a combination of thunderstorm activity, temperatures reaching into the low 80s, relative humidities near 30 percent, and gusty winds.
