Description:
At 425 PM MST, Doppler radar was tracking an area of strong
thunderstorms extending from Congress to Crown King to Cordes
Junction, moving south at 10 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph and half inch size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Lake Pleasant, Black Canyon City, Mayer, Spring Valley, Cordes
Lakes, Yarnell, Agua Fria National Monument, Peeples Valley,
Wickenburg Ranch, Escapees North Ranch and Congress, Horse Thief
Basin, Castle Hot Springs, Palace Station, Coles Bay, Castle Creek
Boat Ramp, Goose Bay, Cottonwood Day Use Area, Sunset Point Rest
Area, and Humbug Bay.
This includes the following highways...
State Route 69 between mile markers 263 and 271. Highway 93 between
mile markers 178 and 196. Interstate 17 between mile markers 242 and
268. State Route 71 between mile markers 90 and 109. State Route 89
between mile markers 258 and 285.
This includes the following recreation areas and campgrounds...
Turney Gulch Group Campground, Hazlett Hollow Campground and Black
Canyon Campground.
Instruction:
Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
