Description:
At 1117 PM MST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Luke AFB, or near Waddell, moving north at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Phoenix, Glendale, Peoria, Surprise, Avondale, Goodyear, El Mirage,
Youngtown, Sun City West, Sun City, Waddell, New River, Cashion,
Litchfield Park, Arrowhead Mall, Beardsley, Surprise Stadium,
Downtown Peoria and Glendale Sports Complex.
Instruction:
Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
