Description: 
At 637 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9 miles east of Tallahassee. The strong thunderstorm is nearly stationary. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph and very heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. The nearly stationary nature of this storm could bring localized flooding. Locations impacted include... Tallahassee, Monticello, Alma, Cody, Miccosukee Road Greenway, Nash, Thomas City, Drifton, Killearn Estates, Chaires, Casa Blanco, Waukeenah, Wacissa, Governors Square Mall, Pisgah Church, Lake Miccosukee, Apalachee Regional Park, Indian Head Acres, Chaires Crossroads, and Festus.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
