At 831 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was over Fausett Lake, or 9 miles northwest of Dawsonville, moving east at 40 mph. HAZARD...Up to 40 mph wind, pea sized hail and frequent cloud to ground lightning. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of light, unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Gainesville, Dahlonega, Dawsonville, Clermont, Dougherty, Amicalola Falls State Park, Camp Merrill, Juno, Fausett Lake, Silver City, Len Foote Hike Inn, Murrayville, Chestatee, Black Gap Shelter, Auraria, Garland, Nimblewill, War Hill Park, and McKee.
Instruction: 
People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for north central and northeastern Georgia.
