...The National Weather Service in Indianapolis IN has issued a Flood Warning for the following river and locations in Illinois... Indiana... Wabash River at Terre Haute, Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site, and Riverton. .Thunderstorms with heavy rainfall that repetitively passed over the same areas along the Wabash River valley Wednesday and Wednesday night will cause the river to quickly rise. Crests are expected to occur Friday through Sunday at Terre Haute, Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site, and Riverton. Dry weather is predicted to last through Saturday, allowing the river system to drain. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wabash River at Terre Haute. * WHEN...From this afternoon to Monday evening. * IMPACTS...At 19.5 feet, Water begins to rise in the Izaak Walton Lake. Sheet flowing water begins in the wetland project between U.S. 40 and I-70, and during a prolonged flood event project fills about 75 percent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:30 AM EDT Thursday /11:30 PM CDT Wednesday/ the stage was 12.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this afternoon to a crest of 19.4 feet early tomorrow afternoon.
