Description:
At 610 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 6 miles southeast of
Salem, moving east at 30 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Cartter, Kell, Iuka and Helm.
Instruction:
Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Seek shelter
immediately in an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built
structure.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for a portion of
south central Illinois.
