Description: 
At 612 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 3 miles southwest of Dresden to near Rexford to 6 miles northwest of Levant, moving southeast at 30 mph. THESE ARE DESTRUCTIVE STORMS FOR AREAS ALONG AND NORTH OF U.S. 24. HAZARD...90 mph wind gusts and two inch hail. SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. IMPACT...You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris may be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged or destroyed. Homes and businesses will have substantial roof and window damage. Expect extensive tree damage and power outages. These severe storms will be near... Colby, Levant, Gem, and Menlo around 620 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by these severe thunderstorms include Halford and Seguin. This includes Interstate 70 in Kansas between mile markers 36 and 61.
Instruction: 
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for northwestern Kansas. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. These thunderstorms will produce strong winds resulting in areas of near zero visibility in blowing dirt. Use extreme caution if you must travel and be alert for rapidly changing visibility. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
