Description: 
At 130 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Little River to 6 miles northeast of Geneseo to 5 miles southeast of Brookville to 10 miles north of Galva to 5 miles northeast of Canton to near Lehigh to Hesston, moving east at 15 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Automated weather sensor 1 mile north of Moundridge reported a wind gust to 68 mph at 1:08 am. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Salina, Mcpherson, Lyons, Lindsborg, Ellsworth, Moundridge, Inman, Galva, Canton, Kanopolis, Marquette, Little River, Goessel, Assaria, Gypsum, Geneseo, Brookville, Smolan, Lehigh, and Lorraine. This includes the following highways... Interstate 135 between Mile Markers 43 and 91. Interstate 70 between Mile Markers 218 and 220.
Instruction: 
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
