Description:
At 934 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Ova to Press to Maulden. Movement was east at
60 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Hazard, Prestonsburg, Jackson, Mason, Estill, Martin, Wayland, Allen,
Buckhorn, Buck, Burkhart, Blake, Vail, Handshoe, Southfork, Emmalena,
Cowcreek, Glo, Bearville, and McDowell.
THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING HIGHWAYS...
Bert T. Combs Mountain Parkway between mile markers 64 and 75.
Hal Rogers Parkway near mile marker 59.
Kentucky Highway 80 in Floyd County between mile markers 1 and 14.
Kentucky Highway 80 in Knott County between mile markers 1 and 7,
and between mile markers 10 and 20.
Kentucky Highway 80 in Perry County between mile markers 9 and 15.
U.S. Highway 23 in Floyd County between mile markers 7 and 17.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 AM EDT for southeastern
Kentucky.
