Description:
At 200 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Mount Victory, or 11 miles east of Somerset, moving northeast at 30
mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Somerset, Elihu, Ruth, Huxley, Baldrock, Mount Victory, Dykes, Bent,
Rockcastle Springs, Bunch, Hightop, and Grade.
THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING HIGHWAYS...
Interstate 75 in east central Kentucky between mile markers 35 and
36.
Kentucky Highway 80 in Laurel County between mile markers 1 and 2.
Kentucky Highway 80 in Pulaski County between mile markers 31 and
40.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
