Description: 
At 739 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Beaver, or 7 miles southeast of Oakdale, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Oakdale, Ville Platte, Mamou, Turkey Creek, Pine Prairie, Bayou Chicot, Indian Lake, Chicot State Park, Whiteville, Beaver, Reddell, Bond, and St. Landry. This includes Interstate 49 between mile markers 39 and 45, and between mile markers 58 and 63.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
