Description:
At 258 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Cumberland to near Sessums. Movement was
northeast at 45 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Strong thunderstorms will be near...
Starkville, Artesia, Muldrow, Tibbee, Griffith, and Montpelier
around 305 PM CDT.
West Point and Pala Alto around 310 PM CDT.
Waverly around 320 PM CDT.
Columbus and Columbus AFB around 325 PM CDT.
Kolola Springs around 330 PM CDT.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
High winds can bring down trees and large limbs resulting in serious
injury or property damage. Exercise extreme caution when outdoors
during such strong winds...and be especially aware of older trees.
