Description:
* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Boone County in central Missouri...
* WHEN...Until 1215 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1059 AM CDT, Emergency management reported water on roadways
in the advisory area due to thunderstorms. Between 1 and 2 inches
of rain have fallen. While the heavy rainfall has largely ended,
it will take time for water to recede.
- Continue to be mindful of road closures and absolutely do not
drive into areas where water covers the road to an unknown depth.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Columbia, Centralia, Ashland, Columbia Regional Airport,
Hallsville, Sturgeon, Rocheport, Midway, Murry, Easley,
Harrisburg, Hartsburg, Lupus, McBaine and Wilton.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
