Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...East Central Buffalo County in south central Nebraska... Southern Hall County in south central Nebraska... * WHEN...Until 600 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 420 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that thunderstorms earlier today dumped a fairly widespread 1.5 to 3 inches of rain across much of the Advisory area. Rain has since ended across the vast majority of the area, but minor flooding likely continues as a result of continued runoff. Fortunately, very little additional rain is expected through the rest of this afternoon into early evening, which should allow excessive runoff to continue receding. However, additional heavy rain is possible this evening and overnight, which could cause additional or renewed flooding issues. A Flood Watch is in effect for the area through 7 AM Sunday morning. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Flat Creek, Wood River, Prairie Creek, Silver Creek, Beaver Creek, Lincoln Creek, North Channel Platte River, Moores Creek, and Box Elder Creek. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Wood River, Shelton, Doniphan and Alda. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
