Description:
* WHAT...For the Wind Advisory, northeast winds 30 to 40 mph with
gusts up to 55 mph. For the Freeze Warning, sub-freezing
temperatures as low as 28 expected.
* WHERE...In New Mexico, Central Lea and Northern Lea Counties. In
Texas, Davis Mountains.
* WHEN...For the Wind Advisory, until 6 PM MDT /7 PM CDT/ this
evening. For the Freeze Warning, from 3 AM MDT /4 AM CDT/ to 9 AM
MDT /10 AM CDT/ Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects. Frost and
freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and
possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
Instruction:
Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution and keep both hands on the
steering wheel.
Secure loose objects that could be damaged or blown away by strong
winds.
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
