Description:
At 545 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Gardnertown, or near Walden, moving east at 55 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Poughkeepsie, Beacon, Pawling, Wallkill, Hyde Park, Plattekill,
Pleasant Valley, Wappingers Falls, Highland, Fishkill, Millbrook,
Modena, Fairview, Hopewell Junction, Marlboro, Red Oaks Mill, Myers
Corner, Wingdale, Dover Plains, and East Fishkill.
This includes Interstate 87 near exit 18.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for
east central New York.
