At 1227 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms capable of producing a waterspout over Portsmouth Village along a line extending from 8 miles northwest of Ocracoke Ferry Terminal to near Portsmouth Village. Movement was northeast at 50 mph. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous waters. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Frisco, Buxton, Salvo, Avon, Waves, Rodanthe, Portsmouth Village, Hatteras Ferry Terminal, Ocracoke Ferry Terminal, Avon Pier, Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, Hatteras Island Fishing Pier, and Ocracoke Lighthouse.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
