Description:
At 115 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Walnut Creek to near Graingers. Movement
was northeast at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Greenville, Kinston, Washington, Winterville, Ayden, Farmville, La
Grange, Grifton, Snow Hill, Bell Arthur, Deep Run, Pactolus, House,
Shelmerdine, Calico, Black Jack, Bruce, Dawson, Graingers, and
Institute.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for
eastern North Carolina.
