Description:
At 554 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Gate City, moving east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Kingsport, Gate City, Weber City, Colonial Heights, Church Hill,
Mount Carmel, Warriors Path State Park, Hiltons, Bloomingdale, and
Bays Mountain Park.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for
east Tennessee...and southwestern Virginia.
