* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Southwestern Hidalgo County in deep south Texas...
* WHEN...Until midnight CDT tonight.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 902 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is already occurring in Pharr.
Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

Edinburg, Mission, Pharr, San Juan, Alamo, Hidalgo, Palmview,
Palmhurst, North McAllen, Sharyland, South McAllen, Alton,
Mcauliffe Elementary School, Mcallen High School, Las Palmas
Community Center, Mcallen Memorial Stadium, Rowe High School,
Mcallen Municipal Park, Crockett Elementary School and Mcallen
Recycling Center.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
